Primitive Collectibles
The entire construction is of wooden pegs instead of nails or screws.  The shrinkage around the pegs is in keeping with the age of the box.  There is a small piece off the back of the front leg but it is not visible from the front of the box.  The clasp is missing and it never had standard hinges as evidenced by the single hole for the wire
I’ve seen Weber listed as Jacob Weber, (1772-1865), Fivepointville, Lancaster County, PA and I also have seen a Jonas Weber (1810-1876) Lancaster County, PA. I’ve only seen pictures of Weber boxes on the websites of Pook and Pook, Maine Antiques Digest, Conestoga Auction Company, James Julia, and several others. Primitive paint decorated boxes have been attributed to both Jacob Weber and Jonas Weber. If you love great primitive collectibles and paint decorated boxes, then this is the box for you!

Price:  $5000.
This is as wonderful painted pine dresser box in the classic style of Jacob  or Jonas Weber!  This little treasure has personality and is perfect for holding your trinkets and treasures.  Please note that it is not signed, nor is it dated, but the Weber style is dominant for the eye to see.  The measurements are    6” x 4 &1/8 “x 3 ¼.”   The background color is black.  The wire rings that were used for hinges are appropriate as I have seen online another Weber box that had wire rings for hinges.  The paint is in good condition with no “in-painting”,that I can find with a jewelers loupe. The normal amount of dirt and bubbling of the paint is visible
